A simple trekking route to discover amazing landscapes of Monte Crocetta andl Monte Pastelletto

Itinerary description

The village of Breonio, near Fumane, is in the valley namesake and it is a perfect point of departure for beautiful trip between villages of Valpolicella and backs of western Lessinia. Leaving from the church, where you can park your car, you will across all the residential area where there are some artistic symbols like crosses, recesses, capitals and tanks in stone, which show the existence of water in this unusual part of Lessnia. 

After that you will go towards Monte Crocetta, following the signals of Cai del percorso 240;  on the top you will find a cross as memory of jubilee in 1933 and some trunks used as benches to relax and enjoy yourself with a wonderful landscape towards Lake Garda and Monte Baldo.

Going on along the back you will enter in a thick pine grove towards Pastelletto; before you must stop to Coal de la Maia, easily recached following a little signal on the right. Here, there are some remains of foxhole of the First World War, both at Crocetta and Monte Pastelletto, where it is still possible to see refuges in the grotto. 

In addition it is possible climb carefully the back of the mountain, characterized of clearings, where you may admire the compelling landscape. The itinerary goes on along the comfortable trail, which reachs Vaio Boralunga; here you will descend towards East until contrada Paroletto, a group of houses in stone.

After exiting from this village you will see a little spring in stone. Crossing  a grassland you will go into the dense carpino wood following the signals of trail Proloco and Breonio. Before that you will reach località le Rive on the CAI 238, and then the cemetery of the village. To go back to the church you will across the main road, to conclude this strange lessinian trail.

Difficultyitinerary with medium difference in height, mainly on the dirty roads and signaled trails between carpino and pine woods.
